Mikkael Doczekalski has been living and working in Paris under the name Graphset since 2007.

Graphset covers a broad field of digital arts, embedding its approach in a constant exploration of the possibilities of digital tools, understood as a "multi-medium" at the heart of contemporary societal, political, and environmental issues.

His production is nourished by an atypical educational and professional background. Initially trained in automated systems techniques, he began his professional life in the world of industrial robotics. He thus developed an analytical logic and a working process that he would divert into a creative approach upon entering the Beaux-Arts de Cergy in 2002.

His taste for technical innovation led him to embark on a series of artistic research projects around the notion of the digital and its direct impact on our relationship to the world, our perception of reality, and the subtle boundaries separating virtual and real universes. Moving between Art and Science, these research projects help us understand and anticipate the technological upheavals that could be generated by the next major technological revolutions (from our production systems to the conquest of virtual territories).

In order to be able to materialize most of these projects autonomously, Graphset will take advantage of the almost limitless resources offered by the Internet and will train in various techniques to meet his artistic expectations: 3D modeling and rendering, 3D animation, 3D printing, laser cutting, machining, electronics, mechanics, programming... Technical learning will thus become an acknowledged part of his aesthetic discourse.

Graphset's production, due to its protean nature, may initially be bewildering. However, each new creation contributes to an underlying global reflection: that of our slow but certain transition towards the digitization of bodies, minds, and territories.
